The cradle of winemaking: wine tour in Armenia

 

The tour program includes:
Day 1: Meeting at the airport, sightseeing tour of Yerevan, and then a visit to Yerevan
"Noy"wine-brandy factory. Visit to the museum of the cognac factory, degustation. Dinner at one
of the restaurants in Yerevan accompanied by national songs and dances with traditional dishes
and local wines.
Day 2: Visit to the wine shop "Maran Winery", wine degustation. Visit to one of the masterpieces
of Armenian medieval architecture - the temple of Zvartnots, to the spiritual capital of Armenia -
the Holy Echmiadzin, the Cathedral, the Museum of St. Echmiadzin, a trip to Sardarapat. Lunch
in one of the guest houses. Return to Yerevan.
Day 3: A trip from Yerevan to Khor Virap, visit to the monastery complex of Khor Virap. Cave of
birds in the village of Areni. Here the world's most ancient shoes was found, which is about
5000 years old, as well as world's most ancient winery. Next stop will be Noravanq monastery
complex with its unique architecture. Visit to Areni winery, tour around the wine plant, wine
degustation. Overnight stay at one of the local guest houses.
Day 4: Qarahunj or Zorats Qarer. This is one of the most amazing monuments of Armenia,
located on the left bank of the Vorotan River tributary, 200 km from Yerevan. It rises on a
mountain plateau 1170 meters high above sea level. The complex is located in one of the most
powerful energy zones of the planet: hence the name Zorats Qarer, meaning "stones of power".
About 200 vertical stones, 3 meters high, make two circles. They have holes with 5-7 cm in
diameter. Outwardly, Qarahunj resembles the famous megalithic structure of Stonehenge.
However, the Armenian Qarahunj has a more ancient history than its English counterpart.
Qarahunj is about 7500 years old. Currently, Zorats Qarer has the status of a historical and
cultural reserve and is considered a special territory protected by the state. Return to Yerevan.
Day 5: Departure from Yerevan to Ijevan. Visit to the wine-cognac factory. Excursion around the
wine plant, cellars, production departments. Wine degustation. Visit to the monastery complex
of Haghartsin, Lake Parz Lich, Goshavank. Return to Yerevan.
Day 6: Yerevan-pagan temple of Garni, Symphony of Stones, Khosrov Reserve, medieval
monastery complex of Geghard. Return to Yerevan.
Day 7: Yerevan, visit to the Ararat brandy factory. Excursion, degustation. Departure from
Yerevan to the "Armas" winery, located in the village of Nor yedesia of the Aragatsotn region.
Excursion to the vineyards of the plant. Wine degustation. Return to Yerevan.
