Christian Armenia

 

Armenia is the first country in the world to adopt Christianity as a state religion, thus taking its
rightful place in the world’s spiritual history.
In the periods of statehood lack, our church took over the country’s leadership and supported
people's faith in God.
During this tour, tourists will have an opportunity to visit the most famous churches and
monasteries of Armenia, to get acquainted with the history and traditions of church building, see
khachkars with unforgettable ornaments and take part in church ceremonies.

The tour program includes:
Day 1: Meeting at the airport. Excursion around the churches of Yerevan - the Church of St.
Anna, the Church of the Holy Mother of God, the Church of St. Gregory the Illuminator, the
Church of St. Sarkis.
Day 2: Visit to the spiritual capital of Armenia - Holy Echmiadzin. Visiting the churches of St.
Hripsime, St. Shoghakat, the Cathedral, the treasuries of Echmiadzin, St. Gayane monastery,
then return to Yerevan.
Day 3: Yerevan, pagan temple of Garni, Geghard, return to Yerevan.
Day 4: Yerevan, Shirak region: Harichavank, Azatan - St. Stepanos church, Marmashen-
Tirashen church, Gyumri - St. Virgin church or "Seven Wounds" (“Yot verk”).
Day 5: Travel to Lori region - Kobayravank, one of the spiritual and cultural centers of medieval
Armenia. The church of Odzun represents dome basilica, the monastic complex of Akhtala,
Sanahin and Haghpat are included in UNESCO's list of intangible cultural heritage.
Day 6: Dilijan, Haghartsin, Goshavank, Sevanavank, Hayravank.
Day 7: Yeghegnadzor, the Church of the Holy Virgin in the village of Areni, Gndevank,
Noravank, monastery complex of Tatev, return to Yerevan.
Day 8: Departure to the airport.
